No newsletter · No predictions · Nothing to sell you

Everyone has an opinion about your money.
None of them know what you own.

Every headline opens with doom and ends with a price. Newsletters sell certainty and get paid whether you win or lose. Fund managers have research teams and terminals; you have a brokerage app and a hunch. Signal does the research for the portfolio you already own and turns it into a few clear decisions a week: what to do, which account to use, what it costs in tax, and why.

Sound Familiar?

If you've ever felt like you're investing in the dark, you're not alone.

I paid a newsletter a lot of money to tell me what to buy and sell. I lost money. They made theirs on the subscription.

Signal sells no picks and earns nothing from what you buy. Every long-term call it makes is recorded the day it's made and checked 3, 6 and 12 months later, wrong ones shown beside right ones.

Everything I read starts with doomsday, and then there's a solution if I pay.

Signal never forecasts a crash or a rally. It describes the market in plain words, tells you what a 2008-sized fall would mean in dollars for your own money, and keeps the cash you'll need out of harm's way.

I don't know how to do deep research on a stock, so I'm shooting in the dark and hoping something sticks.

Every company you hold or consider gets ten quality checks, a cautious buy price and its business record over decades, in plain language: what it does well, what's weakening, and what would change the answer.

Fund managers have research teams, Bloomberg terminals and algorithms. I have nothing.

Signal keeps up to 45 years of company statements and decades of prices, and runs the same checks on every company every week, so you start from the record instead of a hunch.

I can't tell if ten stocks drive the market or all 500 really do.

Signal looks inside your funds and counts every company you own through them, so you can see when one company is a bigger part of your money than you meant it to be.

I freeze before every decision, because I always find out afterwards how wrong or late I was.

Signal logs each decision the day you make it, beside the plan that suggested it. Each month it separates what the market did from what your choices did, so hindsight stops grading you unfairly.

None of this means you're bad at investing. It means you've been doing a team's job alone, with the wrong information, while people sold you fear.

It's Not You

What the professionals really have isn't the terminal. It's the process.

~39%

of the S&P 500 sits in just ten companies. Own an index fund and a few big names directly, and you may hold far more of them than you think.

professionally run large-company funds trailed the S&P 500 over 15 years, research teams and terminals included. Picking stocks is not where most of the professionals' edge comes from.

4 rules

are what a good wealth team really runs: a written mix with limits, rules for when to act and when not to, tax management on every move, and an honest monthly review of what caused the result.

Signal runs all four for you
Decide once. Stop replaying it. Signal changes your plan only when a limit is crossed, a tax deadline comes up or the quarterly review arrives. Most weeks the honest answer is "nothing to do", and Signal says so and shows why. A suggestion you skip doesn't nag you every week; it waits for the next review. And every month your result is split into the market, your mix, your own picks, fees and tax, so you can see which decisions really mattered.
What Changes

Less dread. Fewer second guesses. More evenings back.

Signal can't make the market calm. It can make you calm about your own money.

The market drops 8% in a week

BeforeYou refresh your app at midnight, read three headlines that contradict each other, and wonder whether to sell everything.
With SignalYou already know the money you will need soon is set aside, and what a fall like this means in dollars for you. The plan says nothing to do. You go to bed.

A friend brags about the stock that tripled

BeforeThat sinking feeling that everyone else knows something you don't, and the urge to chase it.
With SignalYou look it up in a minute: its business record, its quality checks, what the price already assumes. You decide on facts, or let it go without regret.

You look back at a decision

BeforeYou replay it for weeks. Too early, too late, wrong stock. Next time you freeze.
With SignalYour monthly report shows what the market did and what your choices did, separately. You see the decisions that really mattered, and you trust the next one.

You don't need to beat Wall Street. You need to stop losing sleep, money and confidence to noise.

The Gap

What a private wealth team sees that you don't.

Families with a wealth team get one view of everything they own, reviewed every week. Most investors get a separate statement from each account and have to piece it together themselves.

What you seeWhat a wealth team seesWhat Signal shows you
A statement for each accountEvery account as one portfolio, each with a jobAll your accounts in one plan, each with its horizon
The names of your fundsThe companies inside them, and the overlapYour funds looked through to the companies they hold
A gain or loss on each holdingThe tax on every possible sale, lot by lotThe tax before you act, from your real tax lots
Your balanceWhat the money must provide, year by yearYour yearly need and the safe money to keep
"Sell something, I need cash"Which account to sell from, and in what orderThe account whose money is meant to be spent first
Whether you are upWhether the advice beat a benchmark, after taxYour result against a benchmark, after tax, every month

Signal gives you that view without a minimum balance, without a yearly fee on everything you own, and without a login to your broker.

This Week · Sample household
Up to five actions
What your portfolio must provide. Retiring at 67. Pensions and Social Security cover $96,000 a year from 2033; the portfolio covers the remaining $22,000 a year, plus a $40,000 home project in 2028. Safe money to keep: the next five years of that, about $150,000.
1 · Safe money · Traditional IRA
Set aside $48,000 of safe money in your Traditional IRA
$48,000
Your cash covers three of the next five years of need. Selling inside the IRA costs no tax now; the money is spent first in the plan anyway.
Tax: noneIf skipped: a market fall could force a sale at a low price
2 · Tax · Taxable
Harvest the $3,100 loss in a fund you hold, and buy a similar fund the same day
−$740 tax
The loss offsets this year's gains. The stand-in fund tracks a different index, so the sale counts. Do it by December 31.
Checked against purchases in every account
3 · Income · Traditional IRA
Sell one covered call 7% above the price, expiring in five weeks
$210
On 100 shares you already hold. No report date falls before it expires, and the strike is above Signal's 5% floor.
Tax: none inside the IRA

What Signal Does

The work a private wealth team does, for the portfolio you already own.

Six jobs, in the order an investor thinks about them.

🧭

What your money must provide

Tell Signal when you retire, what you spend, the guaranteed income you expect and the goals with dates. It works out, year by year, what the portfolio must cover and how much to keep safe, then sets the mix you approve.

✅

A few actions a week

At most five, each with the account to use, the size, the tax and what happens if you skip it. Nothing is suggested twice in opposite directions, and nothing rests on stale data.

🧾

Tax on every move

Real tax lots from your broker files. Losses to harvest, gains worth waiting for, which account to sell from first, the year-end checklist, required withdrawals and Roth conversions that stay inside the bracket you choose.

💵

Income you can plan on

Dividends forecast month by month, covered calls only on shares you hold, with fixed rules, and a withdrawal plan that sells only for the gap, in the tax-smart order.

🔍

What you really own

Your funds looked through to the companies inside them: one company too large once funds are counted, two funds doing the same job at twice the fee, a sector far from the market's weight.

📈

Proof it paid off

Every action you take or skip is recorded. Each month Signal compares you with a benchmark on the same money and the same days, after tax, and shows what following it added: fees saved, tax saved, income earned.

How It Works

Set up in an evening. A few minutes a week after that.

01

Import your accounts

Download the positions and history files from Fidelity, Schwab, Vanguard or Robinhood. Signal builds your tax lots. No broker login.

02

Tell it what the money is for

Retirement age, spending, guaranteed income, dated goals and who the money is for in the end.

03

Approve your mix

Signal proposes safe money and stocks from your own numbers and shows what a 2008-sized fall would mean in dollars. You decide.

04

Act on the week

Read This Week, mark what you did, and get the monthly report by email and Telegram. Once a month, re-import to keep it exact.

Costly and Common

The mistakes no single account statement shows.

The mistakeWhat Signal does
"I own two funds that hold almost the same companies, and I pay a fee on both." Keeps the better one. Funds that do the same job are compared on their measured record and cost, and switched only where it costs no tax or the saving is worth it.
"I needed cash and sold from my taxable account, when the IRA would have cost nothing." Picks the account first. Every sale names the account whose money is meant to be spent first, with the tax worked out before you act.
"I sold a winner 20 days before it would have qualified for the lower long-term rate." Watches the tax clock. Gains about to turn long-term are flagged to wait on; losses about to turn long-term are flagged to harvest first.
"I didn't realise one company was 15% of my money once my funds were counted." Counts through your funds. Company and sector limits are measured against a plain index portfolio, and new money is pointed where you are light, so nothing has to be sold for tax.
"I sold a covered call and the stock jumped on earnings the next week." Fixed rules. No call within 21 days of a report or open over one, none below 5% above the price, and none on a short-term trade.
Under the hood. Ten quality checks and a cautious value estimate on every company you hold, up to 45 years of company records ranked within each industry (how each one held up in 1990–91, 2001, 2008–09 and 2020), each quarter's results and what changed, insider buying and fund filings, and a ten-year yearly return to expect for stocks, bonds and cash from today's prices. That research informs the plan; it is never a hot tip. Signal does not predict where the market goes next week.
